2006 in Review
'06 in Review (Personal thoughts)
Thank you for visiting my website and thank you if you purchased my CD. 2006 started off with a bang and I was flying high. Personally, my immediate and extended families were all doing well. Everybody made it through 2005. It’s always a good year if you and your family make it through the year. I couldn’t wait for 2006 to come. I was so excited that I finally finished, “What’s So F#@k’n Funny?” and I was going to get it out to the world. Read More
Soon after I sent the CD out to tons of industry folks all over the place I received an email from David Drozen of Uproar Entertainment saying that he would like to sign me and officially release my CD under his label. How cool is that? At the same time all this was happening, I was getting played on XM and Sirius, Dr Demento and tons of Internet radio shows. Dr. Demento made “Ode To Scruffy” number 1 and I really felt like I was on a major roll. The next thing I had to do is get my live show together to support the CD and keep the ball spinning. I hooked up with National Lampoon writer/producer Jeffrey Gurian and we started pushing papers. Halfway through 2006 on June 15th my life changed forever. My Dad passed away suddenly. This hit me harder than anything I could have ever imagined. I lost the person I admired and loved the most. He was the most amazing man I have ever met. Dad really had it together and was as sharp as they come. He knew what was really important, family and work. You can live without everything else. The love in his heart, insight, values, and priorities were always in line. I was thrilled that Dad liked my CD and his favorites were the Jew song and Scruffy. We joked about all the dick jokes on the CD. I told him that it just came out that way and it really wasn’t my intention to have a CD with tons of dick jokes. Anyway, if you laugh, it’s funny, if you don’t laugh, it’s not funny. It’s as simple as that. I will miss him forever and I was the luckiest person in the world to have had him as my dad. Well, after a long needed break in the action and plenty of medication, I’m back to writing with Jeffrey and pushing the CD. Most importantly, I still have the greatest Mom and a wonderful wife to take care of me. Lets all have a good 2007. I hope to see you at one of the gigs. Take care and be well,
